Ursem is a village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Koggenland, and lies about 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) east of Alkmaar and 30 kilometres (19 mi) north of Amsterdam and 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) west from Hoorn. A part of the village is located in the municipality of Alkmaar. == History == The village was first mentioned in the first half of the 11th century as Urisheim, and means "settlement of Uri (person)". Ursem developed in the 11th century as a peat excavation settlement.

Cecilie Jørgensen (1814 - 1890) was a Norwegian (originally Danish) stage actress and opera singer. She was active at the Christiania Theatre in Oslo in 1835-63. She was married to the actor and opera singer Christian Jørgensen. She belonged to the acting elite in Norway in the first half of the 19th-century, when the Christiania Theatre was the only standing stage in Norway, and dominated by actors of Danish origin. She is described as a very useful and able actor.

Charles Bigg (1840–1908) was a Church of England clergyman, theologian and church historian. Bigg was the winner of the Gaisford Prize for Greek Prose in 1861. In 1886, he delivered the Bampton Lectures, later published as: The Christian Platonists of Alexandria. He served as the principal of Brighton College in 1871.

Roger Mas i Solé (born 1975 in Solsona, Lleida) is a Spanish Catalan-language singer–songwriter. == Biography == Mas was born in 1975 to a family of musicians. When he was five years old, he began playing instruments under the guidance of his grandfather. His artistic activity as a clarinet and saxophone player began when he was 12. In 1994, he started to investigate different musical expressions from around the world led by the expertise of Luis Paniagua. In 1996, he won the Catalunya Ràdio Award, launching his career as a singer-songwriter.
